Diesel continues to fight counterfeiting

A series of raids in Chinese factories led to the seizure of over 4,000 pairs of jeans, 3,000 T-shirts and sweatshirts, 5,000 belt components and 4,500 Diesel labels.  Helped by local police, Diesel uncovered a cache of counterfeit products in Egypt, and 5,000 pairs of fake jeans in Morocco. Online, Diesel blocked 1,244 sites and 2,351 social media Urls (the majority of them on Instagram) selling counterfeit products, and took down 4,901 fake ads, especially in Europe, on Google and Bing. Most of the measures targeted Taobao in China, Mercado Libre in Brazil and eBay worldwide, for a total of 2,838 copyright and trademark violation cases.   “The legal actions undertaken have led to a substantial reduction in the number of counterfeit Diesel products on the market, and the company will continue its fight and do everything in its power to protect the brand’s reputation the world over,” said Diesel.
